India had long been on our travel list, and when Marc and I finally touched down in New Delhi, there was a buzz of excitement (and a little jetlag!) in the air. We were about to begin the iconic Golden Triangle—New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur—a journey through some of India’s most historic and colourful corners.
New Delhi itself is a city of contrasts, where ancient and modern live side by side. We dove straight into the heartbeat of the capital, weaving through streets filled with tuk-tuks, the scent of masala, and the hum of a city that never truly slows down.
We explored the Red Fort, walked the grounds of Humayun’s Tomb, and stood in quiet awe beneath the arch of India Gate. The mix of Mughal architecture, colonial influence, and modern-day chaos made it feel like we were walking through layers of history.
Marc was fascinated by the sheer pace of the place—one moment you’re passing a luxury hotel, the next you’re in a street market with sizzling food stalls and vendors shouting their daily deals. We both loved the energy and rhythm of the city; it was completely different from anywhere we’d ever been.
But this was just the beginning. Our plan was to complete the Golden Triangle—next stop: Agra, home of the legendary Taj Mahal, and then on to Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan. Each stop would give us a new piece of India’s story.
Even in the chaos, Delhi had a kind of magic. It welcomed us with warmth, challenged our senses, and promised more around every corner. It felt like standing at the edge of something ancient and powerful—and we couldn’t wait to dive deeper.
So, with our bags packed (again!) and hearts wide open, we set off for Agra… ready to trace the triangle that so many travellers dream of, but few truly feel the way we did—together, in wonder.
