After the breathtaking beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle, Marc and I continued our European adventure by heading to a place that had been on Marc's bucket list for as long as I can remember: Nürburgring, the legendary motorsport complex in Germany. As someone who has always been into cars, Marc was beyond excited to visit this iconic racing circuit, and I couldn’t wait to see him in his element.

Over the years, we’ve owned our fair share of fast cars, so getting to Nürburgring felt like the perfect way to celebrate Marc’s love of all things automotive. The journey from Neuschwanstein to Nürburgring was a scenic drive, winding through the Bavarian countryside, but the excitement really hit when we arrived at the track. There’s an electric energy in the air around Nürburgring—everyone there is a car enthusiast, and the atmosphere is full of anticipation.

Sneaking Bernice into Nürburgring

One thing we had to think about, though, was how to bring Bernice along for the ride. Nürburgring is not exactly a dog-friendly destination, and leaving her behind wasn’t an option. So, we came up with a plan: the trusty dog pram.

Bernice, our little adventurer, was tucked into her pram as we made our way through the crowd. The funny part? Everyone assumed she was a baby! We had people cooing at her and commenting on how well-behaved “the baby” was. Meanwhile, Bernice was happily curled up, enjoying the attention, completely unaware of the stealth mission we were pulling off. It wasn’t the first time people mistook her for a baby in the pram, and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Marc’s Nürburgring Experience

While Bernice and I stayed behind to take in the sights, Marc was living out a dream. Nürburgring is a paradise for car enthusiasts, with everything from high-end supercars to vintage classics zooming around the track. Seeing Marc's excitement as he explored the garages, talked with other car lovers, and even took a few laps around the track was incredible. The look on his face was priceless—it was like being a kid in a candy store.

For Marc, Nürburgring wasn’t just about watching the races. It was about feeling connected to the motorsport culture and the thrill of speed. He was in his element, and while I may not be as into cars as he is, I could tell how much this experience meant to him.

A Unique Motorhome Adventure

This part of our trip was such a unique contrast to our usual hiking and nature-filled days. One day we’re exploring historic castles, the next we’re at one of the world’s most famous racetracks. That’s the beauty of traveling in a motorhome—it gives you the flexibility to experience the best of both worlds. We get to chase Marc’s passion for cars one day and explore the quiet serenity of nature the next.

Driving from Neuschwanstein to Nürburgring was another reminder of the diverse adventures you can find when you travel through Europe. Whether it’s the thrill of high-speed cars or the peaceful beauty of a castle on a hill, there’s something here for everyone—including Bernice, the world’s sneakiest “baby”!
